The National Museum of Zanavykai
Zanavykai museum was opened on 21 June 1928 at Gymnasium ‘Žiburys' . In September 1944 during the World War II, the gymnasium building burned down.
In 1986 after collecting a lot of valuable ethnographic objects, local ethnographers initiative to establish Girėnai Museum. In 1992 30 the museum was named the National Museum of Zanavykai. Currently the museum has collected about 50,000 of ethnography, history, numismatics, photography, prints, folk art exhibits. There are organized different exhibitions, seminars, educational activities, a calendar of traditional festivals and events and projects.
